Thermoforming

Our plastic products are manufactured with the thermoforming method. For this we have a large machinery pool with modern facilities for the processing of different plastics. The material is selected depending on the required form and application of the product.

Mainly we use polystyrene (PS), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) from either new or recycled consistence, but also electrically conductive, coated, coextruded, colored or otherwise with special properties provided material (e.g. bio-plastics or Medical degree).

Starting material for the thermoforming process are, depending on the thickness of the material, either sheets or films.

If required, a production under controlled conditions (clean room class ISO 8) is possible.

Advantages of thermoforming process

  • Cost effective molding tools
  • Mold modifications are possible
  • Economical production of large, medium and small series
  • Light and stable products with numerous design options
  • Large variety of materials
  • Short project time from order to series production

Downstream production steps

Depending on requirements, it may be that after the thermoforming process downstream manufacturing steps are required to complete the product, e.g. cutting, sawing, drilling, milling, deburring, welding, gluing or riveting. These services are created in house by UNIPA. Often the plastic parts are equipped with labels for identification (colored, coded etc.).
